Join us and let's make a real difference together. Shell Canada is currently seeking a Contracting and Procurement Manager, Scotford Upgrader, for our Fort Saskatchewan, AB location. The successful candidate will serves as the Contracting and Procurement (CP) interface with site leadership at Scotford, Peace River and Orion, and is a member of the Scotford Upgrader Leadership Team. Responsibilities: Supervise the Contracting & Procurement Department at multiple Heavy Oil locations. This involves expectation setting, performance management, employee development and on-going review of performance measurements against expectations. Provide leadership to site staff, (Total Staff: 26; 8 Direct Reports, 18 Indirect Reports) and key business stakeholders with respect to procurement strategies for the site and operational execution of strategies. Key interface between site based requirements and strategies and global corporate CP functions and strategies; Leads and manages sourcing and execution of operational procurement activity in support of multiple Heavy Oil locations Deliver overarching cost reduction targets while improving operations and business opportunities at site. Annual budget: Operating budget $ 3.2 M, Spend managed through the procurement department approximately $1 Billion, Accountable for ensuring the needs of the organization are met through effective and efficient implementation of procurement processes and compliance to CP policies and procedures. Accountable to ensure all legal, insurance and government regulations are adhered to as various procurement strategies are implemented. Contributes to procurement related strategy in terms of business needs and market position. Responsible for development and deployment of high quality CP buying and transactional staff to ensure strong connection to the business and to bring staff efficiency at site level. Responsible to ensure integration and alignment with other related CP organizations (ie: category management, projects procurement, etc). Accountable to ensure all purchasing activities and processing are in compliance with various audit protocols (i.e. business controls audits, SOx requirements, financial audits, HSSE) Responsible for preparation and execution of the department budget and monthly accountability and CP KPI reporting. Requirements: Bachelor?s Degree in business or engineering is required With a concentration in supply chain management preferred MBA preferred PMAC or equivalent would be considered an asset Minimum of 15 years of relevant functional experience 5-10 years of management experience Must have the ability and experience to manage multiple sites; understand and have the ability to prepare for future potential de-bottlenecking and expansion from an operations perspective. 24/7 coverage throughout the departments; on site converge for plant outages required SAP experience is required Detailed operations working knowledge Strong background in CP processes and practices Leadership capabilities & solid interpersonal skills; have the ability to influence and motivate others Proven track record of delivering results through others, with a strong customer focus Occasional travel to Calgary, Peace River and Cold Lake area is required.
