A Global Consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for mining and metals division in Saskatchewan. The client is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm with over 60 offices internationally and is seeking to grow steadily in provinces across Canada in preparation for some large projects. Reporting straight into the Mining Lead, you will have opportunity to gear your career in the direction you want. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the execution of mine engineering feasibility studies, infrastructure systems such as mine dewatering, mine, hoisting, and shaft design, water and air services. Must have underground mine design and operation background, as the majority of the work in underground mine related. You will also be managing clients on a day-to-day basis and be dealing with project management/ engineering studies. The consulting firm is seeking to take on a major project which will allow you to be the forefront and to lead accordingly. Some projects are based in Manitoba/ Northwest regions and Sudbury ? for this reason, travel may be required.
For a successful application, you must have five + years background as a min, 15+ years background is preferred. Degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineer with excellent leadership skills, presentation skills and personality is a must. 1 of the main factors of this role is for you to be a good team fit. Therefore, your positive attitude and personable skills will all be evaluated. The current Mining Lead has background in both consulting and operational and for this reason is open to considering backgrounds from both sides of the industry.
